Price Limit for Palladium during October 2008

The Tokyo Commodity Exchange (TOCOM) announced today that it applies the price limits for the Palladium contracts from tomorrow until the end of October (29 and 31 October) as follows.

If the final contract price for all or a part of the contract months drops below JPY 500 to within the four hundred yen level, the price limits for Palladium of all the contract months except the first shall be JPY 80 between the following business day and 31 October. If the final contract price falls below JPY400 to within the three hundred yen level, the price limits shall be JPY60 between the following business day and 31 October.

*1. Once the price limit for Palladium is set at JPY 80 as a result of the above treatment, even if the final contract price goes up to JPY 500 or above, price limits shall remain at JPY 80 (not go up to JPY 100). However, if the final contract price drops below JPY400 to within the three hundred yen level, the price limits shall be JPY 60.

*2. Once the price limit for Palladium is set at JPY 60 as a result of the above treatment, it will remain the same until 31 October. (Even if the last contract price goes up to JPY 400 or above, price limit will not be raised to JPY 80 or 100.)
