Sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused to market participants and others who may have been affected by the problem related to the circuit breaker for platinum occurred on Monday, September 26, 2011.

Since the night session of September 26, we have implemented the immediate measures for adjusting CB trigger levels. Now that we have finished modifying the relevant code and conducting verification tests, we would like to report on the findings of the investigation and the scheduled operation.

1. Problem cause

The cause of the problem is the failure in processing after the first CB for platinum triggered at 9:00 AM on September 26, which made it unable to count the following CB triggers for platinum correctly.

2. Scheduled operation

The patch program is scheduled to be released in the production environment on Tuesday , October 11, 2011.

Tokyo Commodity Exchange is committed to taking all preventive measures for this kind of problem in the future and continuously ensuring sound market operation. Thank you for your kind understanding.
